For the past 6 years, a German shepherd called Capitán has slept next to the grave of his owner every night at 6pm.
His owner, Miguel Guzmán died in 2006. Capitán, the dog, disappeared while the family attended the fueral services. A week later reatives of Guzmán were visiting the cemetery when they were astounded to find the dog next to the owner's grave.
The cemetery director says that the dog comes around each night at 6pm, and has done so for the past 6 years!

Chocolate Covered S’mores on a Stick {recipe}

chocolate covered s'mores on a stick

If you are looking for a fun and easy Valentine’s day treat these are delicious!  I created these chocolate covered s’mores on a stick the other day trying to use up items in our cabinet.  If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you may remember me telling you about the heart shaped sprinkles available in the Target dollar bin right now.  They are cute and perfect for some fun Valentine’s Day treats so stock up!  These would be perfect tied up in plastic bags with a cute bow to be handed out to your very own Valentine’s.  I’m not even going to pretend that these were given away.  We ate every last one of them.  Oh, yes we did.

So, here is how you can make these delicious treats and pass them out to your lovies or keep them for your very own!

First you will need to resist the urge to dig into the chocolate you are placing on top of the graham crackers.  Line up a dish and place the marshmallows on top.  These are going to bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

s'mores in the oven

Once they come out of the oven you need to put the lollipop stick in the middle and squish it into the marshmallow.  Put another graham cracker on top and pop them in the freezer for about 15 minutes.

s'mores on a stick

Once your graham crackers are set and nothing is sliding off the stick you can melt down your chocolate chips using 30 second intervals and stirring in between.  I like to use a deep bowl so that it is easier to dip.  Swipe your s’mores through the melted chocolate, sprinkle and place on wax paper for drying.  You might need to use a spoon or knife to help you completely cover the s’mores.

Chocolate Covered S’mores on a Stick {recipe}

Ingredients

  • mini marshmallows (I used peppermint flavored because they are pink)
  • Hershey's chocolate pieces
  • honey Graham crackers
  • 1 bag dark or milk chocolate chips
  • lollipop sticks
  • sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Find a large flat dish and line it with Graham crackers (the amount of S'mores you want to make).
  3. Place a piece of chocolate on top of each.
  4. Place a handful of mini marshmallows on top of the chocolate. Make sure there are not so many that they will fall.
  5. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  6. Immediately place your lollipop stick into the marshmallow in the middle and press another Graham cracker on top. Repeat this process for all of the S'mores.
  7. Place them in the freezer for about 15 minutes or until you can pick up the stick without the graham crackers sliding off.
  8. In a microwave melt down the chocolate chips to a smooth consistency in a deep bowl using 30 second intervals and stirring in between.
  9. Begin dipping the s'mores into the chocolate and cover completely. You may need to use a spoon or knife in order to cover it well.
  10. Sprinkle the sprinkles all over the S'Mores.
  11. Place them on a sheet of wax paper until the chocolate has dried. It will likely take an hour or two before they are dried completely. If you are hoping to speed up the process you can place them in the refrigerator.

Waiter refuses to serve customers who insulted special needs child

There are some good people in the world. Saw this and I had to share.

Miya Shay

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A waiter at a restaurant near downtown took a stand for a special needs child. Now, support is flowing in from all over, thanking the waiter and the restaurant, Laurenzo's on Washington.

The waiter has been working at the restaurant for about two years, and the family members at the heart of the story have been regular customers about the same length of time. But it's what took place two days ago that has a lot of people talking.

Michael Garcia loves serving his customers. On Wednesday night he greeted two groups of regulars -- Kim Castillo and her family, and another group who sat in the adjacent booth.

"So we were sitting there and all of a sudden I noticed that the family across from us got up and moved to the back of the restaurant," Castillo said. "I thought, I wonder if they're moving because of us?"

The Castillo group included five-year-old Milo, who has Down syndrome. But neither Milo's mom Kim nor Garcia could have imagined why the other family moved.

Garcia recalled, "I didn't think much of it until I heard him say, 'Special needs children need to be special somewhere else.'"

After hearing that, Garcia just reacted.

"It was very disturbing," he said. "My personal feelings just took over and I told this man, 'I'm sorry, I can't serve you.'"

That family quickly left. But it wasn't until later in the evening that the Castillo family found out that their waiter had stood up for their son.

Kim Castillo said, "What went through my mind was that I was just so impressed and felt so good that somebody would stand up for another human being."

Garcia said, "It upset me because he's a five-year-old little boy. He's an angel. He's precious!"

Since then support has poured in, from the Internet and from regular customers.

Customer Bill Baker said, "I think he did the right thing -- there's the door."

And most of all, he earned the thanks of a grateful Castillo family.

Kim said, "He's good in our book!"

Garcia says if the other customers return, he will serve them just like anyone else. As for the Castillo family, they plan to remain loyal customers.

Anonymous and encouraging message posted in university restroom

Saw this today and I wanted to share it with my readers.

An encouraging message was posted in a university bathroom (Imgur)

A Reddit user posted a photo of a poignant message that she found taped to the stall in a women's restroom at her university.

The user, chellylauren, wrote: "In a girls' bathroom stall at my university, girls have written about some of their most horrifying life experiences. This week, somebody replied."

The reply, written on notebook paper, is anonymous.

The reply in full:

To the girl who was raped: You are so strong. I cannot fathom the pain you must have gone through. The fact that you have the bravery to write it (even on a bathroom wall) gives me hope.

To the girl with eating disorders: I promise you, although I don't know you, you are beautiful, you deserve your health. You deserve freedom from that hell.

To the girl with the alcoholic father: I am so sorry for the agony it must cause. Again, such courage is remarkable you must be such a strong person to see such pain.

To the girl whose father died: Missing them never goes away. The ache of their absence never goes away. But the love they had, the memories you share surely must last. I am sure, out of the bottom of my heart, the people who have left you in this world are exceptionally proud of the person you are.

Everytime (sic) I see these walls, these confessions, I feel so blessed to know I have the priviledge (sic) of seeing them. Your moments, these secrets, are all precious even though they are sad. To all of you (including those I did not mention, and those who have not yet written)

-You are worthy.

-You are strong.

-You are brave.

-You are loved.

-Somebody cares.

Written below that, somebody penned a quick response: "To the person who wrote this, thank you."

What’s for dinner? Taco Roll

To make this, you'll need:
2 crescent roll tubes
1 LB ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Lay out the two tubes of crescent pastry, thick sides in. Use some of the left over crescent rolls to to make the center a bit thicker.
Brown beef and add taco seasoning.
Lay beef in a circle inside of the laid out crescent rolls
Add cheese to the top
Pull over crescent rolls and tuck in under meat and cheese.
Add cheese, lettuce, tomato, black olives, sour cream or whatever you desire for your tacos, in the middle.
Follow cook time on the pack of crescent rolls, and once it's done, you're good to go. Easy, cheap, and yummy!

My Primitive Décor (Fireplace)

005

I picked this up at a local craft show. I had switched it to various places in my home but the last one was on the fireplace.

It says-

Here let us live life at it’s best. Here may your heart find comfort and rest.

On the other side of the fireplace I had my magazine holder that I bought at a country craft show.

052

We just sold our home that is in the photos. For now we have moved in with my mom. Our home we were going to purchase did not pass inspection. I am excited that in 3-4 months we will be moving into our new home and I will be able to decorate once again. My country curtains featured here had to stay with our old home so I am in search of new ones. I think I may have found something I like.

How do you decorate? What is your style?
