Reindeer
So here is another new item that I purchased for the holidays. It is a reindeer made from real wood. Something about items that could be discarded made into something new just is beautiful to me.
This treasure was purchased at Lievens Market And Outdoor Living!
They have 3 buildings to explore and shop! I made it thru 2 of them. I ended up having a trunk load of goodies!
Located at 10411 Fremont Pike Perrysburg, Ohio 43551

My Snowman
I was so excited when my daughter had spotted a local market under new ownership since the last time I had stopped in. She came home to tell me that they had a million things I would love. I found this adorable snowman made from real wood for our front porch.
If you are in the area please be sure to check out Lievens Market And Outdoor Living!

Morgan Freeman in Evan Almighty....
This popped into my head when I woke up today. Morgan Freeman in Evan Almighty. For some reason this is one of the things I love most about this movie so I thought I would share-
Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?
If you have not seen this movie be sure to.. it's one of our families favorites!

You Are Enough!
Such a powerful way to change the way many people think about themselves, affirming that they are enough just the way they are.
This is a must watch!

Why Old School Is Still Cool My Son & His Vintage Typewriter
My son who just turned 12 on August 30th seems like he lived long ago and was born again. You may laugh at that but so many things he does and wants is not something a typical person his age would. Starting about 3-4 years ago he asked for a vintage typewriter. On Saturday we had gone to Put-in-Bay for the afternoon. I love shopping at thrift stores, garage sales etc he enjoys it also. I just happened to see a sign for a thrift store. They closed in 23 minutes and we decided to make a quick stop.
I was looking at many tables set up of items outside. He walked in the door and I saw the biggest smile on his face. On the table as you stepped in the door was a vintage typewriter from 1967 in box with instructions. It was priced at $50.00 and he had birthday money left. While I looked around the rest of the store he stood and looked at it. He had not brought his money with him. I asked the worker if they knew anything about it. All she knew was it was a one owner item and it was well taken care of. I asked Dave if he really wanted it. I knew the answer was going to be yes. I was able to get the price down to $45.00 plus tax.
Above is the first letter he wrote. It was a thank you note to me. Below is a letter he typed and sent to his grammie.
Since we got home all I could hear was click...click..clack....ding. He typed thank you notes for his birthday party to send to two of his friends. He started to write a novel but ran out of ribbon. We are on the search to purchase more. We researched it online and have found that what he purchased was worth $139.90-$440.00 at least that is the going rate on Ebay. He has a laptop and he just got a Ipad mini for his birthday but he loves this typewriter! All I can say is old school is still cool.

DYI Chalk Board Fridge.....
I am a bit ocd about being organized. Lately having one child in 6th grade and one in college our fridge was cluttered with so many things going on. I went to Bed Bath & Beyond and found a solution I love. I purchased 2 peel and stick chalk board decals meant for the wall. They were $19.99 each and I had 2 coupons for 20% off...but with gift cards I won ended up being free.
The picture above is what the decal is like. It goes perfect with my primitive theme and helps keep us organized. I tried to find them online to show the link but they must be sold in stores only.
For the top part of my fridge I took another decal and cut it to fit. I think it looks cute.
We have decided the top part will be split between the kids. My daughter claimed the left side and my son wants the right. The bottom has emergency phone numbers. I am going to leave a area open for the family to write notes if needed. I may end up putting any events coming up below etc. I love the fact that it is removable. The chalk is actually in a dry erase marker and wipes off with a tissue or paper towel.
What do you think????
By the way DYI is Decorate Your Interior

My New Bistro Set
Let me tell you I have always loved Tractor Supply. I stopped in yesterday and saw this adorable 3 piece bistro set. It had been $149.99 earlier in the year and was on sale for $99.99. If you had seen my front porch in the past I had a cheap bench. My son Dave was able to assemble everything in about 30 minutes. I love the barnstars! It is very sturdy. We get lots of high wind in our area so I will not need to worry about anything blowing over. I love the rustic/primitive look it ties in with my look.
For our porch it is the perfect size not too big not too small.
This is the stool and bottom of the table close up.
This is the top of the table.
Hard to see it on the porch from the front.
I am so excited that I have a new place to sit and enjoy!

My Primitive Decor For My Bathroom
I found this sign at Meijer it was marked $29.99 but rang up on sale for 1/2 off. I put it in my bathroom last week.
DIY Primitive Decor For My Kitchen Table
Earlier in the year I had seen a company selling caddies for flowers for around $50.00 I was able to find the set of jars in the holder for $19.99 at Hobby Lobby. They were on sale for 1/2 off so it was only around $10 plus tax. The others I has seen had berries and other things in them. I love these burlap flowers that I also found at Hobby Lobby. They were not on sale and they were each $2.79. I purchased 6 of them. They had long stems so I folded them over. I have been leaving this on display on my kitchen table. I may mix it up over time and put other things in the jars. I may even use real flowers.
