Crayon Art

One of my daily rituals is browsing the DIY section of Pinterest. If any of you do the same, then I’m sure you have seen the melted drippy crayon art. Intrigued by the concept of melted wax, I started playing around with crayons and hair dryers. I thought the “Drip” was cool, but over done and a bit boring. By exploring different methods of heating and blowing, I came up with something pretty cool and unique. Below is my process along with some tips and tricks.... OR if DIY isn't your thing just Click to Buy!

Supplies You'll Need
LOTS of Crayons {I suggest getting the cheap kind at the $ store}
Hair Dryer
Heat Gun {Optional}
Canvas
Exacto Knife or a sharp kitchen knife
Paper Plate or piece of cardboard

I suggest separating the colors {Red, Green, Blues, etc.} It keeps things organized, and its much easier way to pick the right color tones.  I then shell the colors I want. I use an exacto knife and make an incision in the paper jacket. If you don’t have an exacto knife use a small sharp knife.

Grab your canvas and a color and start!! I suggest starting with a corner, its easier to build upon. If you want a watercolor look, start with a dark shade like navy blue and layer with a lighter shade of the same color. If you want a dramatic shade contrast add a little white at the end.

Tips and Tricks for Heating and Blowing
You pretty much always want your heat level to be on hot, but high and medium speeds melt the wax in different ways. Medium speed is slightly more controlled and will allow you to thicken up a color by layering. High speed will give you a spray effect and is good to achieve the watercolor effect.  If you want to use a heat gun put it on low and about 75O degrees. I usually use a heat gun to puddle a color and then I use a hair dryer to move the wax in a certain direction. Heat guns are also key for the drip effect.

Every person can make a difference in the life of someone….

John Gebhardt's wife, Mindy, said that this little girl's entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head...but they failed to kill her. She was cared for in John's hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair.. The girl is coming along with her healing.

He is a real Star of the war, and the hero of peace.

This, my friends, is worth sharing. Go for it!! You'll never see things like this in the news. Please keep this going. Every person can make a difference in the life of someone even if it is one little girl.

HOW TO MAKE A COFFEE TABLE OUT OF WINE CRATES

DIY project complements Jodeze Gifts N More E- Bay Store

HOW TO MAKE A COFFEE TABLE OUT OF WINE CRATES
As we all know, a new coffee table is quite expensive, so today will show a solution that with a little skill and creativity you can do it yourself. There are several options for materials, but depending on the table size, you can choose pallets or wine crates. If you choose wine crates follow the steps below … and belive me you can create a very atractive coffee table …

What you will need:
4 Wooden Crates
2 1x2x6 planks of recycled pallet
4 Caster Wheels
Screws
Screw Driver
Stain or Paint your choice
Satin Polyurethane

How to make it:
1. Stain or paint the crates and let them dry.
2. Create a frame with planks, bringing them together with nails, as in the photo. Secure the cross in the middle to the frame using L brackets. This will be the base of your table.
3. Arrange the crates and nail them to the frame. Don’t worry about the hole in the middle. We’ll take care of it in the next step.
4. Measure the dimensions of the hole, cut two pieces from the planks to fit and screw into place on the sides and bottom.
5. Flip the construction upside down and screw a wheel at each corner.
